Positive internal thinking Continued

Last topic we talked about the thought process and internal thinking we do on the daily bases. Well today lets look more into that negative side that comes up so unconsciously and how it affects us. We tend to think our thoughts are just thoughts, but they are not and have been shown to affect our brain chemistry. That is why research has found that optimists, who have a positive self-talk and belief in themselves, have better physical and psychological health than those of us that tend to be pessimistic with a negative self-talk.

Very often the quality of our self-talk has been influenced by our parents, friends, peers, media, school, etc., when we were younger. We can get into a loop especially with chronic stress in which the self-talk is mainly hypercritical of ourselves. It can influence our self-esteem, levels of confidence and our relationships. Our self-talk is influenced by our beliefs about ourselves, other people and the world in general.

Some of our negative self-talk can be in the form of Automatic Negative Thoughts. These ANTs can just pop into our heads and can also be just below our conscious level. Usually when we are not stressed we have a ratio of 2:1 positive to negative thoughts, however when we are under chronic stress our thinking becomes more negative and, while these negative thoughts would help us to deal with a physical threat to our well-being thousands of years ago, they are absolutely unhelpful when dealing with the psychosocial stressors we encounter in our modern world. In fact the type of negative thinking that the fight/flight response triggers makes complex problem solving more difficult.

To help to reduce our stress it is important to identify these Automatic Negative Thoughts, and take action to deal with them.
We will continue this conversation and thought reviewing another post. Give feedback and tell me how this topic makes you feel.

Positive Internal Thinking

Sometimes our thoughts are what drives us. To keep going, to remember and sometimes even to give up. When we think about our life and review everything that has occurred this is all a mental process. When we decided that we will not continue doing something its all a internal thought process. Our thought process determines how are life goes so if you want a prosperous life u better start thinking good. According to (Dr Alice Domar PhD, Clinical Psychologist) he believes We have about 50,000 thoughts a day most of which are automatic. Our internal self-talk will be a mixture of positive, negative and neutral thoughts, (healthy self-talk ratio is around 2 positive thoughts to every 1 negative thought); it is important to understand that this internal dialogue can influence our feelings and behaviours. If our self-talk is mainly negative, harsh and unrealistic it can exacerbate any stress we are under. In this silent self-talk we are often our own judge, jury and executioner with no right of appeal and no extenuating circumstances. We can call ourselves useless, worthless, stupid, a failure, horrible and this is a form of psychologically beating ourselves up, it is literally a form of psychological torture. Someone once wrote: "If we talked to our friends in the same way that we talk to ourselves we would not have any friends."

The problem with our self-talk is that we never question what we say to ourselves to check it's accuracy, we just listen to the negative statements day in, day out and like the drip, drip of water on stone, if we keep up excessive, negative internal self-talk saying negative things for long enough, we begin to believe it even if it's not correct. We just accept it as being true when often it is not, or when it is true, we blow it out of proportion. How do you feel about Positive thinking? TO BE CONTINUED......

A New Instrument

Well I would like to say I have discovered a new so called instrument on social media. His name is Kenny Muhmmad.

Kenny Muhammad (born December 3, 1968) is an Beatboxer occasionally referred to as The Human Orchestra, a moniker he affirmed by performing David Eaton's composition.

Kenny is known for using a technique called the "wind technique", which heavily utilizes breathing as an element of the beatbox routine. This creates a unique effect of audibly inhaling and exhaling while simultaneously creating percussion sounds with the mouth.

In 1992 Kenny toured globally with a cappella singing group Rockapella as a vocal percussionist for their 1992 tour. Kenny told the group that he preferred to be introduced for his vocal percussion solos as Kenny X. Since then, he has worked with many other artists, a large proportion from outside the hip hop genre, including Public Enemy, Mindless Self Indulgence, Matisyahu, Squarepusher, The X-Ecutioners, Regina Belle, The Gap Band, Maxwell, Angie Stone, Stevie Wonder, Vernon Reid, GEN.EX, D.A. Smart and Take 6. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=anlZc0T8rfo What does this do for music? And where Can This take  Us

The New Gate Way Drug

Yep just like that. Welcome to the new gate way drug, The need for todays "likes" Have some going to the extreme. Don't believe how about you do some research. Todays younger generation to even adults are willing to put their lives on the line for some like. Have you ever heard of jackAzz, Now some call it Entertainment and to some this my be true. But its things like this that get online like youtube and Facebook and get a insane number of likes. Well let me tell you what that does. Provoke others to not only imitate but try and outdo these life risking stunts just to get some likes. To be honest with you sometimes some people pull off these stunts, but not all do don't believe me check out the link.
Now it goes future than just do stunts. The need for likes have some males and females exposing their self  in a unpleasant way socially. And remember and all for the likes. Not only that people are being violent in the world and instead of helping someone we would peter to record it and put it on world star or what not. This is something that getting out of hand and no telling how far some will go. How do you feel about this subject? Where Do you think its going?

We Are Not User's

So have you heard "Facebook wants you to know it doesn't see customers as a mass of faceless moneymaking advertising targets. It understands that you, and the other billion individuals who log on to the social network, are flesh-and-blood humans with feelings" Apparently its this that has sparked the wave of social media changing out the word users. Margaret Gould Stewart, the company's director of product design, explained Facebook's softened approach to humanizing its customers at the Atlantic Technology Conference in San Francisco on Wednesday. "It's kind of arrogant to think that the only reason that people exist is to use what you built. They actually have lives, like, outside of the experience they have using your product," she said" Now when things like this surface you have to think about where did that mass though come from. Could Facebook have gotten to money hungry and no longer care about it's people or what. How do you feel about this? where is social media going. Is the lust for money slowly diminishing the thought of the user? On its own, swapping out a few words doesn't mean much, but it shows that a giant global company is working to shift its internal culture. If engineers, designers and other employees think of the real people on the other side of their products, it might help them create something more personal and human.

And that, of course, will make it a little easier to serve people ads.

Team Work

So Besides are normal chat about the do's and don't on social platform. Today we talk about what is need to get over them humps you run into when on your musically journey. Well to me its simple, you can't do it on your own you need a team. Now when I say A team I mean people that makes sense. Lately I've witness people team leads and in positions of power and they know nothing about that position. When doing thing like putting a team together we can't emotionally make these decisions because if we do we will find ourself in a awkward position. Do boss move like singer Beyonce who father and mother is placed in position that directly deals with her career. Other celebrities start out with family guiding their careers, only to amicably part ways with their parents over time. But when you fire your mom or dad, don’t Thanksgiving dinners get awkward? Here are a few bad decision on who's in that power of control

Selena Gomez

MOMAGER: Mandy Teefey

Mandy's biggest crime was probably not making Selena as successful as she hoped to be, which explains why she fired her earlier this year.

Justin Bieber

MOMAGER: Pattie Mallette

When Justin began getting into a bunch of trouble, Pattie was suspiciously quiet and hands-off.

Ariel Winter

MOMAGER: Chrystal Workman

The custody battle over Ariel between her mom and her sister got pretty serious recently. And it was all because they were acusing Chrystal of being all-around terrible.
What do you think about this subject do those positions matter who are in them and should you show fave to family?

New Things

Since I have been a audio engineer I've known for sure that I didn't like dealing with live sound. At first I wasn't sure exactly what I didn't like about it I just knew it was a headache to me. As time progressed I found out what is was that was rubbing me the wrong way. 1) It was the genre I was listen to (Metal) 2) It was all that distortion being used in the guitar, and how loud everything was overall. My reason of not liking the loud stuff was because my ears are my money makers. If i sit around and deal with all that loud noise I can kiss away my ears lasting long. Coming into now Things have defiantly changed I have learned to adjust and adapt. Where double hearing protection while dealing with guitars with loud amps, and dealing with drums. Open yourself up to music and let it emotionally carry you. Only then when that emotion is felt can u decide if its not for you. Overall Im saying this, Don't be afraid to try new things. Doing such i found out that live sound is actually something i enjoy. Dealing with all the signal routing and outboard gear really teaches you exactly whats going on, besides just using a plug in. I will like to know What is something you didn't like at first but learned to love it? Share with us we will like to hear.

Where is media taking us

In todays world everything is done on some type of media device. Rather it be a computer, iPad, tablet, cell phone etc. The world is flourishing on technology. Today, we have more choices about where to get our news, be it radio, TV, print or digital editions of newspapers and magazines, online journals, podcasts, or even blogs. Our options for informing ourselves of current affairs are seemingly limitless and certainly of varying quality. The media landscape has changed exponentially in the last 100 years, challenging media leaders and journalists who seek to put important issues into the common discourse. With things like google glass and I watch, keeping up with daily task and whats going on socially is a breezy. But what is that doing to us in the real world. I mean if we got rid of all the gadgets and stuff where do we stand? Are we able to write stories with out word correction? Can we go see that bother or sister who only stay 30 mins away? What is are attention span like? Can we hold group discussions with out feeling socially awkward? I mean really, where do we stand. Has the day and age of robots and a tech ran world arrived? Do you think we can withstand and sustain with out it or are we to far lost with social technology world.

FRAUD

Yep you read that correctly FRAUD. Let talk about it a bit because musically, personally and daily this is a problem. In todays world it seems like everyone is all about a dollar. In some cases some individuals will go to extreme measures to obtain just such.
Fraud’s Many Forms

line

As you can see FRAUD is a problem on many levels. Now Musically fraud to me can be just as bad. I mean do you think talking some artist hard work thats for sale on iTunes and downloading it to make a CD mix for sale is fraud. Well when we think about it what is it doing to the music and the industry. Industry wise that take a blow to the pockets but I pretty sure  they can manage, From a artist stand point Tho its a big loss on many levels. This makes artist  loose interest in the craft, loose funds and all other type of trouble. Whats your take on this Do you Believe this is a issue? How can it be stopped?

The Healing Power of Music

"One good thing about music when it hits you, you feel no pain." Bob Marley

Think of the last time you went to the gym. (If never, let's play pretend) You get on that treadmill and you start running, running, running...5 minutes goes by, 10, etc. You have your
favorite soundtrack playing in your ear. Time is of no importance. Something about those upbeat instrumentals and motivating lyrics keeps you going. Suddenly it dies ("I knew I should of charged it"). You continue to run but start noticing time going much slower and you start noticing that strain in you right leg. All of a sudden you are bored and unenergized.
But Why?
It's all about the rhythm. Some psychologists have suggested that "people have an innate preference for rhythms of two hertz, which is equivalent to 120 bpm. (beats per minute)...When running on a treadmill, however, most people seem to favor music around 160 bpm" When running to a beat/ rhythm the body conserves it's energy and uses it more efficiently. Listening to music also helps distract the brain from thinking about the physical needs of your body. Your brain is constantly keeping track of whats going on in your body and when you start to get tired your brain is telling your body, "that bench looks mighty comfortable over there." -Brain. When you listen to music it distracts you and you stop noticing or caring about that fatigue. especially when you have Down With the Sickness blazing in your ear.

Intermission

Today we are going to venture away from the normal and just do a little fun exercise. Today we are going to test our situational awareness and call out exact what these sounds could be. Now since this is project is specifically for my class  I expect everyone to identify all sounds because we are exposed to them daily. So this is how this exercise will go, listen to the link below and while doing so close your eyes while listening to the sounds. Write down what comes to mind for each sound and at the end come back here and see if you where able to identify them. Now even tho this is for my classroom I welcome all visitors to give it a try and see what you come up with.
What Comes 2 Mind

  • Class room working
  • Drawing or Sketching while listening to music
  • Bus Ride (Slush outside)
  • Lunch Time
  • Walking outside Pass a Bus

Well I hope you guys like this little project, be sure to leave your answers below and let me know how you did and what you came up with.

Avid Cloud Collaboration

Hello there bloggers, Today we will discuss a different platform. Usually we discuss social platforms like YouTube or Instagram but today we are going to discuss An online platform that allows you and others to join together on production with out being in the same room, hell with out being in the same state. I know you are thinking like how is that possible well lets jump into that. Avid makers of pro tools has created what is called Avid cloud collaboration. This awesome feature gives you the ability to do something some thought would never be possible. This cloud enables you and other Pro Tools users to work together on the same music session or soundtrack—in real time or offline—no matter where you all are across the world.
With built-in “community” features, you can create groups of collaborators, see who’s online and available, and send invites for one or more people to contribute to a session. You are even given the option to expand your talent pool by finding other collaborators through a Pro Tools directory. These is so cool to me but at the same time I think about the negatives. What if the cloud crashes? What would this do to my work saved? But on the positive side of this awesome idea With track-based collaboration, you’ll be able to:
  • Post sessions to cloud storage and invite others to collaborate
  • Work on the same session at the same time or offline and share updates directly within Pro Tools
  • Record, edit, and mix tracks that will be pushed to all other collaborators upon completion
  • Automatically keep track of all contributions and changes, as files are automatically tagged with rich metadata
  • Stream mixes to a mobile device for real-time review and approval
  • Communicate with collaborators through text or video chat directly from within Pro Tools
This takes pro tools and everything that avid does to another level. I'm really excited about this feature and would love to get some feed back from my viewers. Leave some feedback and tell me what you guys think.
